  3. Laura's house looks so nice!

I think my favorite part were the chickens. In England do you have to have a permit for farm animals if you're not in a rural area? They're trying to change that here in the US, and I've noticed more chickens for farm fresh eggs in people's yards around the city. I think it's great!

So, in most homes over there are there no closets built in the houses? I love all those Ikea wardrobes, but will probably never need one unless I don't have a closet in a bedroom- where over here is quite rare.

  5. Amazing. The pics are fabulous. I love the colors and the simple clean feel of it all. What is in the cabinet to the left of the shower in the bedroom? Inquiring minds and all that. :)

  6. Lovely tour, great that you added the photos as I thought from the video that the bedroom wall was black, love that dark blue!

Can you ask Laura where she bought her bathroom accessories? I love that towel holder :)

  7. As far as I know you don't need a permit for chickens over here.

No built in closets in British houses!

The cabinet is a deep cupboard over the stairs and contains things like toilet paper, towels and extra food (e.g. canned goods).

The fabulous towel holder was already there when they bought the house.

  8. What was that in the kitchen, in the base cabinet beside the sink? Was that a washer/dryer or a dishwasher?

  9. Such a nice place! I'd totally move in there :) It's so light and warm and friendly, and the garden is really nice, too. Having your own chickens must be so cool!

  10. It's a washing machine; it's standard over here to have washers in the kitchen.

  11. Hi Jen,

Have just visited your blog from Nic's blog and see that you are actually looking at coming to NZ. My hubby is a policeman on the North Shore and if you ever end up over this way you could always give me some fashion advice as yours is lovely. :o) Also, reading on your past posts you can still buy from ebay over here, it just takes a bit longer to arrive. We also have a very good local site called Trade Me for some great bargains! www.trademe.co.nz :o)

  12. Thanks Megan. Good to know I can still get stuff on eBay but I'm wondering if they'll be as cheap due to the shipping. I've looked at shoes on TradeMe and they just don't compare so I might have to give up my shoe fetish :o(
