What was so special about our dinner last night? The only thing we had to buy was the pork loin (which I did in the slow cooker) and gravy - the carrots, potatoes and corn came out of our garden! And let me tell you, that is the best corn I have ever had in my life.
(P.S. Normally I'd eat way fewer potatoes and way more carrots but I miscalculated when cooking. I also meant to do some green beans but forgot.)
This one didn't scan so well - it looks so much better in real life. There is a slight pearlescence to the patterned paper and the "baubles" are metallic gold hung on satin ric-rac and a suede type of ribbon. The little spots are crystals.
Yesterday Noah started school full time. It is really the end of an era for me. For almost 8 years I've had a baby or toddler or both at home with me and now ... 6 and a half hours of time to myself every day.
I had Big Plans for yesterday. I was going to go on a shopping trip I've been planning for ages, and maybe scrapbook after that. Instead, I have been felled by an evil virus and have been deathly ill. It's been threatening for ages and on Sunday it won the battle and I was so sick. I only managed to doze for half an hour between 3:00 and 3:30 am and then slept for an hour from 5:15 to 6:15. So yesterday was spent in my pyjamas and a big nap featured.
Today I am feeling marginally better after having slept well last night but man, I have not been this sick in ages. If I had a fever (which I don't) I would totally wonder if it was swine flu.
But hey ho, later this week I will be feeling better and Grant will be on rest days and we'll go out to lunch to mark the occasion of Noah being in big school full time. Our little boys are growing up so fast.
"Nothing that once made you happy is ever lost. A golden thread of pleasure runs through your life. You just need to rediscover this thread before the joy of living completely unravels."
We patched the holes in the wall and painted this wall and the chimney breast a soft sand colour (Crown brand, colour is Toasted Almond) - we will eventually paint the rest of the room to match, after I take down my backdrop support system and patch the holes.
My backdrop rolls (white vinyl and Sandstone paper) as well as the support system are on eBay right now - please contact me if you're interested in buying any of it.
We don't use the fire. I like my craft desk at this angle because I like facing the light and the cupboard to the left holds all of my craft stuff. The mat on the table is my big green self-healing cutting mat that I spray-painted white. I turn it over to work on it. It looks better like this than when it was green, although it needs another coat or two.
The cute seat pad that my cousin Di helped me make.
A copper planter I had, with candles in and a shell necklace around the bottom. I don't know why it looks like it has yellow highlights - it doesn't in real life.
These are the pictures framed above the desk - they each have a vintage tint (my own Photoshop action):
Dare I say, I love the room now and think it's actually better than it was before!
