Harvest dinner

What was so special about our dinner last night? The only thing we had to buy was the pork loin (which I did in the slow cooker) and gravy - the carrots, potatoes and corn came out of our garden! And let me tell you, that is the best corn I have ever had in my life.

(P.S. Normally I'd eat way fewer potatoes and way more carrots but I miscalculated when cooking. I also meant to do some green beans but forgot.)

  1. Yummo. We eat so much corn. Esp. since we live in Iowa (or near Iowa).... I swear to you, Iowa has the best corn. (or maybe a close second to yours?)

  2. Looks delicious! We grew our own tomatoes and cucumber (yes we only got one) and did taste test against some store bought veg and I was really shocked at how much taster our homegrown versions were.

  3. Mmm...that looks so good! How rewarding to have most of your meal be things you grew yourself.

  4. Looks delicious! I bet it felt so satisfying and rewarding eating the fruits of your hard work!! I need to grow some veggies this coming year. A couple of years ago I grew some spring onions. I swear that they made the best salad ever!!. And there were only about 3 of them, lol. I'd be interested to see how you grew your corn.
