What was so special about our dinner last night? The only thing we had to buy was the pork loin (which I did in the slow cooker) and gravy - the carrots, potatoes and corn came out of our garden! And let me tell you, that is the
best corn I have ever had in my life.

(P.S. Normally I'd eat way fewer potatoes and way more carrots but I miscalculated when cooking. I also meant to do some green beans but forgot.)
Yummo. We eat so much corn. Esp. since we live in Iowa (or near Iowa).... I swear to you, Iowa has the best corn. (or maybe a close second to yours?)
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! We grew our own tomatoes and cucumber (yes we only got one) and did taste test against some store bought veg and I was really shocked at how much taster our homegrown versions were.
ReplyDeleteMmm...that looks so good! How rewarding to have most of your meal be things you grew yourself.
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! I bet it felt so satisfying and rewarding eating the fruits of your hard work!! I need to grow some veggies this coming year. A couple of years ago I grew some spring onions. I swear that they made the best salad ever!!. And there were only about 3 of them, lol. I'd be interested to see how you grew your corn.
ReplyDeleteBe proud of that!! Wow. I hope to try a few ideas of your next year--thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHey, that is awesome! And don't feel bad about the potatoes, I bet they were yummy! :-)
