Turns out that I can actually run for 20 minutes in a row - who knew? And nobody was even chasing me.
Of course, if they were, they would have caught me since I was only on the treadmill.
Turns out that if you have an MP3 player (even if it's a cheap junk one off eBay) and some good music that makes you want to move, it's actually fun to run. Kind of like dancing, but without the flailing limbs and humiliation. Actually, kind of like dancing when I was young and foxy and still enjoyed dancing.
Never thought I'd voluntarily run and do so with a smile on my face.
Now to figure out where to put my MP3 player while I run, 'cause it was getting all sweaty and wet in my sports bra. (You're welcome for the visual.) Any ideas?
I know you can get an arm band that will hold an MP3 player, most electronic stores should carry them, just look in the accesories area. Or maybe a store like Wal-Mart, not sure if Wal_mart is an option where you live but Im sure you've got something like it. Arm bands are kind of a one size fits all, its literally elastic covered in fabric that has a pocket for your IPod/MP3, you slide it up your arm so it fits on your bicep (or in my case lack there of!) then just pop the MP3 player in the pocket, this way you can run and your music won't go anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHope that helped,
Laura
I wouldn't like it touching my skin, so I was thinking about some wide elastic around my hips with a pocket (sewn by you) the right size with a little Velcro flap, or something like that.
ReplyDeleteDid I explain myself well enough?
Think latex! This may sound crazy but you can always use condoms. (I totally understand if you don't post this one!) However, when I was a Stage Manager, my actors wore mic packs and needed something to protect the transmitter for their mics. So, we put them in non-powdered, non-lubricated condoms and it worked every time. Prior to that, I sewed mic belts out of muslin that did okay but were a bit cumbersome and still let a little moisture in.
ReplyDeleteUnder the hot stage lights, sweat would have ruined our expensive equipment! If they didn't break, we reused them. Just a thought...
Running? Fun? No one was chasing you?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm sorry. I don't get it. (says girl with wide load...)
Thanks for the ideas, very handy!
ReplyDeleteArm band; or some microfibre running shirts actually have a pocket built in for iPods etc.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a running belt too, that has little water bottles all around it and an iPod pocket. (He just did his first triathlon last summer.)
